Down for 24 hours from 8am today.

There were several notices on XBox Live over the past week, so if you've logged in over the past 7 days you've really got no excuse for not knowing!

The new Dashboard won't be available after the update, but is arriving very soon apparently........

Just tried to log on for my daily gaming dose, but forgot about the xbox live down messages. I've been running around testing my BT line and checking broadband download speeds. Then I remembered xbox live was down. Doh moment.

Will we get a 1 day refund or 1 day free?

eta. Hi Roadpest.

I am an unashamed Battlefield 2 'modern combat' junkie. Bf2 might not have the best graphics, but imho the online gameplay is enthralling. I find it to be extremely layered & full of suprises. For me, most fps are nothing more than a test of reactions. People run around, see an opposing team member then 'spray and pray'. No real skill, just reactions. Bf2 is like a mixture of rainbow six three and cod 4.

After a long bf2 session other games are fired up to. Ace combat 6 floats my boat. I cant be arsed with shooting down people (to hectic), but zooming around 6 ft from the ground is quite pleasant.

ttfn.

Logins to the websites work, i.e xbox.com, but Live still down frown

Major Nelson has reported it is taking longer than expected and we should expect an update around 20 mins ago......although not there yet frown

All this for us to see no changes at all.....great frown

A lot of people all over the net are asking about getting a refund for loosing a day, which is amusing as it works out out around a whole 11 pence hehe

Ok, after last post, went back to Major Nelson's 'Twitter' (whatever one of those is ??) and he said it was back.

I signed in, and sure enough, Xbox Live is back on line smile

Right, now just got to call Xbox up and see about getting my 11p back rofl

Edited to say that I just remembered I got my Live from Play.com, so I will be after my 9p hehe

The 11p is all about principal, we get st load times and fked laggy games then for them to sort their st out it cost us again. In fact, I'm going to ask for a whole months gold membership to see how they say no.

This update seems to have made live alot worse, well for me at least. COD 4 is acting very strange saying no connection when it's connected, not letting me start games etc. Iv'e spoken to a couple of others and they are having same probs. ANyone else here?

I'm mostly on Rainbow six vegas at the moment. Am about to get to top level, so sticking with it for the moment. Will definately be needing something else when done as it's been at least 6 months. (Don't get online for long and spend a lot of time messing around when I do). I've hooked up with quite a good crowd on R6V giving it more of a pub chatter feel, which always adds to the entertainment.

Have COD4 but it's a bit too hectic late at night so may pick up BF2 and give it a go. Been tempted by Ace Combat 6 too in the past so sounds like that may feature in my box soon....
