Anyone played the demo for this? I thought it was rather good.

ETA that this is PS3, might be one on the 360 though, i'm not sure.

I would much rather be flying about in a tie fighter or x-wing than all this force stuff.

I just downloaded the demo, and I am very impressed. For a Star Wars games, it's very playable.

I found it deeply disappointing, sure it's fun being the baddy and the force powers are cool, but then you take a step back and realise the force powers are quite badly implemented (depth perception when throwing something anyone? There is none), the controls are awkward and camera is slow and all over the place... yet another super average star wars tie in relying on gimmicks frown

May pick it up when it's cheap, which I suspect won't be too long after it's released.

Not tried the demo, but can anyone compare it to the Sith Lords type of game (II in particular) which I thought were superb. Although it takes about 30+ hours to complete, the gameplay and story are awesome. In fact, it's the only reason I've kept my Xbox smile

You mean knights of the old republic? It's nothing like it, that's an RPG and this is a 3rd person action game.

The controls are crap and it's not a patch on Jedi Knight II.

Engine (HalfLife2?) is fairly shiny tho.

I played the demo but didn't really get on with the controls which is the main thing putting me off buying it. Might give it another go to see if I manage better this time round.

Played the demo...meh.

A big step down from Jedi Academy/Jedi Knight on the PC. Force throw is overused, you Lightsaber might aswell be a blunt stick (4-5 swipes to kill a 'trooper? confused) and while the graphics are decent, and apparently the story is great, I imagine it'll get old quickly.

Reviews have been decidedly average - rental game at best.

Come back, Kyle Katarn wink

After playing the demo a few times, my considered opinion is that this game sucks. And sucks badly smile

Good Bits:

1. Sound - fab lightsabre effects, top Star Wars score
2. Graphics not half bad smile

Bad Bits:

1. Controls seem to suck a tad, it's really difficult to engage multiple enemies. you almost have to finish one before turning around and starting on the other.
2. Lightsabre - surely the most powerful weapon in the fantasy arsenal. Well, not here - you need a good few swipes of the thing to finish even the most hapless enemy - not too good.
3. The 'boss'. you get to battle a small AT-AT thing at the end of the which is infuriating on the max difficulty level. Essentially the thing won't die unless you complete a specific combo at the end, which kind of makes a complete mockery of your efforts thus far. You are able to slice it in half (cool effect) but where did this new found power come from - just ten seconds ago I had to bash a Stormy to death with the same weapon!

Still, at least the good thing about the demo is that it saves you £40 smile

Bought the PS3 version - very shiny and it appeals my inner geek.
Played the Wii version - waving arms about like a fool is fun, if tiring. Duel mode is awesome!

Finished the game and thought it was pants frown Not as good as Jedi Knight II and the backtracking through environments was annoying. Storyline was fun but the game boring. After the mess that animated Clone Wars movie was Lucas seems to be systematically destroying the franchise with each new venture grr
