Been given a PS3 from India, what will work on it?
Discussion
Hi all,
First post on the games forum (i lurk on the P&P one more to be honest)
Just been givena PS3 as a present from family visiting me from India (woohoo!!). the unit is an official PS3 from some Sony shop in India and is a 40GB PAL version. it has a region number of 5 on the box(havent unpacked it just yet unfortunately - been too busy).
My questions are(I have no idea of PS3 specs etc):
Will i be able to play UK PS3 games on it?
Will i be able to play UK Blu Ray movies on it?
Will i be able to play UK DVD's on it?
Sorry for asking such silly questions, but just wanted to know where i stand in terms of the media i can play on the unit.
Thanks

PS3 games are region free so you shouldn't have an issue with that.
Blurays are region locked (regions A to C - UK is B, India is C) although some are region free. Unless the latter, you won't be able to play UK BR disks on it.
DVDs will have the same problem - UK is region 2, India is (from dim and distant memory) region 5, I think.
