having just got my 360 online on monday i thought i'd have a go at forza 2 (after being killed many many times on cod4biggrin) i entered my 1st race and won by quite a gap, after the race finished i was ready for another race, the host (scoobysomthing) removed me, so i went and done a few timetrials and whenever i tried to go back for another race this scooby chap was hosting it and he kept booting me off frown

how can i enter other races? or do i get put in certain races because im a beginer. . . .

Best thing to do with Scoobyplayer??? is to leave negative feedback on him, just say anything really.. hopefully then you will avoid this player/host in the future

It happens.
Best thing is to add some friends you like racing with and find them when you want to race. The more you play the easier it will be.
Have alook at the PHTCC thread, the guys on there are all ok.

you will need that to play online yes, but if you are lucky you might have a few months free inside a few of your games, (i found 1 free month in my gta4 game boxbiggrin) and if you want to down load any extras for any of your games you will have to buy game credits. i think the 360 elite is the only one to have wireless built in.

I think I have one month free as a trial, but that is it, I always thought downloads were free...strange. As far as I know it should be possible one way or another to sort out my wireless network out somehow.

I keep meaning to reply to you're mail, but haven't got round to it so here you go!

You're current internet provider will be fine to use with live, and assuming you want to set you're console up wirelessly you are going to need one of these.

I got mines from my local Comet Electrical store, at first I grudged paying them £60 for it but I eventually bit the bullet and got one. I had a few issues with it to begin with, mainly I think because my wireless transmitter thingymajig is downstairs and the Xbox 3 floors above! But its all sorted now and has been working perfectly since. As I said before, drop me a line when/if you get it and i'll talk you through setting it up.

In regard to the OP, Are you just choosing the "Quick Race" thing? If so try searching for some specific events (Custom Race) and then you should be able to choose with host you want to connect to.

Feel free to add me and i'll send you over an invite for some races with some fellow PH'ers. My GT is: ih8thisname.

I assume you keep selecting "quick race"

To enter other online races just select Either career or Exhibition (I think thats what its called). It will then give you choices of what sort of races you want to create/Join. career online will give you money.

Now you come to mention that... scratchchin

IIRC it's in the friends tab (middle of the three, between messages and recent players) on the xBox guide menu. At the top above any friends you currently have. If you're having trouble finding it, post you're GT up on some of the threads in the wiki sticky at the top of the forum for others to add. thumbup

Right, I've decided that as long as I don't have to pay monthly for using a wireless connection I will go and buy all the things needed to go online. However, if I do have to pay for using the connection I won't be going ahead with it.

Whether it's wireless or not makes no difference, but to play online on XBox Live it's about a fiver a month, or 40 quid for the year - on top of whatever you have to pay for internet access in the first place of course.

No, you don't have to pay any extra charge what so ever for using it wirelessly. Once you have bought the xBox live subscription and you have the wireless reciever, thats it. There is no charge for using it after that. Unless, of course you are interested in the downloadable content for you're games ie. Forza cars/COD maps.. To get them you will have to pay for some microsoft points. thumbup

I might go ahead after-all then, it is just this that is confusing me - 'I got a bt land line (£11 per month) and 8meg O2 broad band (£7.50 per month, discounted because i have a O2 phone)'
