GRID - Drifting

It's great fun, I love the downhill stuff but is it actually possible with a steering wheel?!

I can't get it at all. I play the rest of the game with the wheel, and having to constantly swich back and forth between pad & wheel is becoming increasingly annoying.

Does anyone else use the wheel? If so, any kind of technique/drifting strategy is more than welcome!

Yeah I used a wheel (G25 on the PC).
With regard to drift tehcnique, I don't use the handbrake at all, just use the throttle for power-oversteer. On a long say 180 degree corner, turn in and let the understeer build towards the apex, then give it a bootful of throttle (in 3rd gear, unless a very tight corner) to get the back to step out. Chuck in the opposite lock and vary throttle and steering angle for optimum slide angle!
I find lifting off towards the end of the corner (having nailed the apex pretty much the length of the corner) and then jsut as the car starts to settle give it another bootful of throttle to chuck the car 90 degrees to start the slide earlier for the next corner.

I found that with traction and stability control off it was impossible, turn them on but leave braking help off and it was like a different game.

My demo doesn't work. :-(

Some collision detection bug sets the cars bouncing all over the place in quite a hilarious fashion when they're all supposed to be just sitting on the grid

Vista SP1 on a 8800gtx. Surely not an unusual setup....

That's a rather intriguing question actully..

I can see arguments for both sides of that!

The drifting however, is improving. I reckon it's just called a lack of skill! Thanks for all who posted their help.
