PS3 Wireless internet setup - HELP ME!!!

I have bought a PS3 console set up everything bar the internet. When I try to connect to the wireless server thingy-ma-jig it says "Obtain IP adress" then it fails and says "The connection to the access point timed out." How do I cure this problem

I take it you have a wireless router? If so does it have a passord/key preventing anyone from connecting to it from a wireless device... if so you will need to get the key from the router and enter it in the network settings on the ps3

what router do you have? and is DHCP turned on?

Make sure your router is set to 'pairing' mode. I had this problem with my Orange wireless router when I first got mine and I simply forgot to press the button that allows it to discover new hardware.

Matc u may be on 2 summin there because i have orange wireless 2. How do u put it on pairing? Mine says easypairing is enabled

I just pressed the no. 1 button on my wireless router which puts it into pairing mode for about 5 minutes.

had exact same problem when i set up wireless router long time ago had to choose my password this (password took couple of hours to remember) has to be used when setting up ps3
