Anyone use/ herd of Orb Networks?

I installed Orb yesterday so I could access my PC from my Wii.

This allows me to view files, pictures, listen to music etc on my lounge TV via the Wii.

More of a heads up to anyone who would find this useful.

It can be used by anything with an online connection. Quite simple and I suspect there are many other ways of doing this.

Having a brief look at the site you seem to have to access their site through opera on the wii. Does that mean the media content gets streamed from their site having been read from your pc or have I misunderstood? I can see why that would be useful if you are away from home but if your pc and your wii are both on your LAN a more local solution would be more sensible and faster, wouldn't it?

The control packets go to Orb online. It then works out the best way between the two machines and fires the packets directly, so they won't leave your router.

Cool, I'll have a look at that then - thanks.

I found it useful for streaming music to my lounge as my computer is far away.

I'm also planning on sorting out some films.
