Woooo, you'll need serious GPU power but I'm going to have a look at it. Probably not worth racing with it but maybe creating video films of races???

HDR (High dynamic range rendering) is one of the new 3d technologies rFactor’s gMotor 2.0 engine currently does not support. At least normally it does not as Canamracer of Simscreens has discovered the following:

Originally created for GTA San Andreas, a HDR plugin by Boris Vorontsov also works with rFactor. The following screens have been made by using the plugin, nothing has been added despite some cropping and adding the water mark. Those are direct grabs from the game!

Trying yourself is easy: Just hop here and download the GTA San Andreas plugin. Copy it in your rFactor folder and activate it via Shift+ F12 once you are at the track.

But beware: HDR requires a lot of GPU power, especially when not directly supported by the engine. Using this tool will most likely eat up 70% of your FPS but it is interesting to see how the future could look like.
Link to the download on the page - http://www.virtualr.net/hdr-in-rfactor/

Looks like it also works with GTR2 and Race07. Download the latest version from the link on the webpage link.

Cool. Will try this.

My PC should be able to handle it.. will get some screenies later if I get time.

Cheers for the heads up.

I'll try this in GTR2 (really need to get around to getting rFactor! smile).
HDR looks really nice in TDU,
One thing, I didn't realise you could do HDR as a plug-in! confused

Nice, but it's just blowing out the white, so it looks good some times, but other times it looks a bit poor.

Not real HDR... I don't think many games are proper real HDR yet... but some get pretty close and look nice biggrin

I just say render for a fixed exposure like all the best games do, and look fine doing, and then a bit of bloom on the white looks ok and natural!
