Aliens: Colonial Marines

Just saw this on the cover of a 360 magazine - actually made me buy the mag.

Best film ever made into a next gen game. Looks amazing and could be the game of 08. Only the second 360 game I'm really looking forward to (so will probably be crap then)

Should be good, but the previous games ruined more than one pair of boxers, so it will have to be seriously good to match the tension in the original AvP.

Game of the year though? Shirley not.

Playing as the Marine in is still one of my fave PC game experiences ever. Palpable tension....

I hadn't heard anything about A:CM so this is a plesant surprise. The fact that Gearbox are doing it, and it's going to be scripted by two of the main writers from the new version of Battlestar Galactica, bodes well.

I agree that it's going to have to work very hard to Game of the Year though. I'd guess most people already have GTA4 pencilled in for that particular accolade, closely followed by GoW2.

The previous games were brilliantly scary - playing at night with the lights off... I've never played a game which was so atmospheric (and scary).

Hopefully the new one will be more of the same
