Do other players seem to have really 'off' days 
Sometimes I'm wandering around maps effectivley killing everything that moves. On Wetwork and Downpour my trusty P90 kills all, even with just a few rounds.
Then there are some days, like last night for example, when exactly the same combo is like trying to kill a stamping Spetznaz with harsh language. On quite a few occasions I've used more than 30 rounds to down a guy..! WTF! Is this lag or something? I seem to be firing into thin air..!
...and to make matters worse, they turn around (with all 30 odd rounds buried in them) and casually let off a round or two from there RPD, and I'm deader than a dead thing.
Is there an ideal combo of weapon, or are they largely the same and dependant on map..?

Changing to the M16 + red dot, as recommended by Gorvid last night seriously upped my kill level.
Now using - sleight of hand and deep impact or something or other.
PLaying search and destroy last night - defused two bombs. Planted One. 6 kills and match bonus = 1000 xp!!
I can see level 55 coming round a bit quicker now!

Yesterday was pretty bad for lag, It did improve for a few game then went back to as many deaths as kills. That's not a bad combo, but I always find that getting trapped close up is suicide as I can't get the rounds off quickly enough! It's range is pretty good though

I have the odd off day, its frustrating but hey ho.
The most annoying one is trying to knife people, i sometimes can knife 3 people in a row no probs in a ttight space, then other times miss everyone and get dshot by a pistol in the head. I can only put it down to lag.
Last night got 122 kills and 18 deaths on shipment, I got bad rep for being unsporting by some squeeky american kid.
Fact is I captured the HQ 3 times, destroyed it once and kept using deep impact with the rpd to kill all the campers hence the hi score lol noobs.

BUT i seem to have days of stabbing people (not real people) and some days not being able to stand any one no matter how close i am..played Halo3 last night. i found it so slow compared to COD4!
No so much off day's but games i get on better with some and really hate others[wet works being one],the problem comes when you let you 12yr old have a go and he just kicks arse winning the round [which i've not done yet] when i usually just get as far as second and that's it,i know it will come ONE day its just so frustrating alway's been the bridesmaid much to the enjoyment of my son

Oh yes, forgot about that one... What's the best technique here?Honestly, as simple as that. It does annoy me though for just that reason. I have gone up behind people before and from few metres away, my well aimed single rifle shot to the head will merely wound them, and give them the chance to see me.
In return, they pull out a poxy knife, they say 'Go go Gadget-Arms' and they do a single stab wound anywhere on my body from a couple of metres away and I drop completely dead...

You must look pretty weird to other people when you are seen running around shooting at empty space...
