Console advice for part time gamer

I'm looking for a console that carries Mario Kart and Grand Theft Auto series.

I'm not enough of a gamer to buy the latest generation of consoles but could anyone advise whether there was a console that carried both so I can pick up a cheap one.

Out of the two, my preference would be Mario Kart (Xbox I think?), should there not be a console that had both games.

I don't think Mario's ever been on anything that wasn't a Nintendo (discounting the very, very early days).

You could get the old GTA games (pre-GTA3) on the GameBoy I think, but I don't think they've been on a Nintendo platform since.

Can't play them both on one system. Get a SNES from EBay and the original MarioKart, and a PS2 for GTA.

ACtually Ive just had a word with one of the work experience lads in the office and he suggests an xbox 360 for both games (in the future) and something called 'Live'.

i don't think Nintendo's MarioKart will be available on Microsoft's XBox Live network.

mario kart can be had on the snes, the n64, the gamecube, and the wii version will be out soon. Its probably never going to come out on anything thats not nintendo.

The more recent GTA's were for playstation, but because the PS3 is a bit of a flop, the new one is coming out on the xbox. i think they are making a PS3 version, but the xbox one will have more "episodic content" whatever the hell that means!

GTA SA was available for Xbox too (i have it).

Anyway, buy a 360.

It means extra missions / areas / etc you can download at a later stage
