Grand Theft Auto 4 Delayed

Bad news.
GTA4 launch, supposed to be on Oct 16th, has been put back to spring 2008. Problem is apparently that formatting to PS3 is causing issues (bloody thing) and as Rockstar Games have an agreement with Sony not to favour one console over the other those of us with XBOX360s have to wait too.
Gutted. Was looking forward to GTA4 for dark winter evenings!

I just checked google news to see if I could find out how old this news was. Unfortunately, it's so old, they no longer link to stories about it.

actually i'll wait untill its out, then have a look at it on the ps3 and the xbox and i'll buy which ever it seems best on.. If its the same i'll go for the cheaper option

Where you getting your information from? I heard it was due to the PS3.microsoft and sony came to an agreement to share it

Personally, I am glad of the delay, too many good games out at the mo (Halo 3, Skate, load of play left in Forza 2, etc.)

What utter guff. Can you really see Sony turning to Microsoft and saying 'Nah we don't want to keep this amazing system seller all to ourselves, why don't you have it too..' Rockstar made the decision about who gets it and they decided to release it on both systems simultaneously.microsoft and sony came to an agreement to share it

Neither versions were anywhere near as ready as they wanted them to be, the 360 was proving difficult because they wanted to stream from the Hard Drive, but MS in their infinite wisdom released the core system meaning that not everyone has the hard drive to stream off. The PS3 was also proving a bitch to program for as it's quite a tricky new system with a lot of unfamiliar system architecture that will take a while to learn how to utilise fully.
As for the PS3 version being nearly finished, I don't know where you pulled that from, but every single time they showed it to the press they were using the 360 version, I don't think anyone outside of Rockstar has even seen the PS3 version running.
My prediction is that they will put a message on the side of the 360 version saying that you will need a hard drive to play, much like the football manager game. Plus you'll definitely be needing the hard drive for all the 360 exclusive downloadable content for it.
