Gran Turismo HD on PS3

will it be any good, or should we stick with Gran Turismo 4 ?
Define good? I've played it, and it's fun, and looks great. But there's one track, 10 cars, and you can only do time trials. No races, no other tracks, no other cars. For a free download it's OK, but since GT5 won't be out until 2008, and that's if PD can ship it on time. Past experience with GT2, GT3, GT4 and GT:Mobile says they can't. You'd be a lot better off buying a 360 and Forza II in May, and waiting a year on the PS3.
Although F1 2006 on the PS3 is pretty cool.

It will also be the first time Ferrari have allowed use of their cars for the game. What version are Amazon offering here? Is this the full version of GT 5?
You do know that that release date is extremely hypothetical right now? To put it into context, GT4 shipped over a year late, GT:Mobile still hasn't shipped despite being promised for 2005, and GT3 was almost a year late too.
I would love to have a good reason to buy a PS3 but for me the only reason for buying one would be Grand turismo 5. I find it strange that a flagship driving game for the PS series would not be available on the same day as the console.
It doesn’t even look as tho it will be available this year
I will stick with my 360 for now, and look forward to Forza2 in May.

The first GT for the PS3 is GT4 with an overlayed updated Graphics Engine
The second GT will be the built for platform version.
This is what they did on PS2 effectively.

Except that the the GT:HD isn't going to be the game they originally promised. It's a free download, it's got one track, and 10 cars, and you can only do time trials. Look, I've played the thing, since we have PS3s here in the US, I'm not making this up. On the other hand, the PS3 F1 game is really good - I've played the demo for that (Indy and Monza) and it looks superb and is a lot of fun - the sense of speed is excellent, and it's as good now as F1 97 was back on the PS1.
As for why it'll be late, game development is quite complex, and bugs creep in, and with the PS3 it's a completely new architecture to design for, which takes time. And PD are not very good at meeting deadlines, but then Forza II was originally supposed to be ready in November 2006 and they're going to be 6 months late to market too.
BTW, Forza II is going to have some very cool things, including much much better AI: http://arstechnica.com/journals/thumb

Coming 2015 to stores near you, seriously, how long is till they release GT4 Mobile on the PSP, it was scheduled for 2005 ffs!!
GT4 Mobile has probably been canned, so they can contrate on GT5 from what I've heard from Game I think. It's proably true since no screenshots or details have been released in ages. By the way is just the 599 GTB and 430 coupe that are the only Ferraris in GT5? Im hopeing for the Enzo, F40, F50, 360 and 355 spider to make an apperance!

I've pre ordered my PS3 and are not just looking forward to Gran Turismo HD but its coming with the new Ridge Racer. But also apparenlty the new Test Drive Unlimited is not just gonna be and xbox360 game but will be avaliable on the PS3 woo hoo
Test Drive unlimited will also be released on PC next week and according to the developers it features higher quality graphics on the PC than the console versions as they have been able to add even more detail (Thats from an interview with one of the core team on a game website)
