.....as a Lotus Cortina twincam! I thought my PC would be able to handle it as it does OK with GTR but even with all the detail turned down as low as possible, it's still not anywhere near as smooth.

I installed the game this afternoon and I've had a great time ragging the mini around the club circuits but I don't want to start racing properly with jumpy graphics. PC spec is Athlon 2800+/512mb/XP Home and my current GFX card is a GeForce FX5600 (which I think is the weak link) Any suggestions?

p.s. my driving is far superior to my PC knowledge so please explain the confusing stuff

in the config change the display to directX7, the FX cards can't handle DX8 or 9 properly for this game. Try that for starters

The DX7 tip made a huge difference for me. Also disable the MOTEC logging (I can't find the post to do that now).

512mb is the minimum spec for RAM (I have 768)

Your graphics card is better than mine, I have the FX5200 and can run at 40fps

Thanks chaps. The direct X change seems to have done the trick. Still running at the lowest level of detail but it nice and smooth now.
