Picked up Worms Forts last night, thinking it would be a fun two player for the GF and I. I loved the original PS1 2D worms, still have a copy that gets played occasionally on the PS2, its an immortal game that surpasses graphics and sound with pure gameplay. We grabbed a copy of Worms 3D when it came out and loved it. Great fun, looses a little on gameplay over the original but adds variety.

Worms Forts however, Oh what a terrible mistake. There are a couple of nice ideas and the graphics seem to have had a small improvement over worms 3d, thats where the good points end.

The camera angle randomly changes to ensure you cant work out where your going. The random slowdown (slowdown on a PS2... we arent talking about incredibly complex graphics here or lots of variables, looks like crap development...) is massively irritating. The controls appear to have been randomly made either non-responsive or hugely over responsive compared to the previous Worms PS2 game.

Its playable, has novelty value for a few hours, but beyond that, its just not worth adding to the collection.

Anyone played Worms Armageddon? Is it a worthwhile update to Worms 3D or another crock of cack?

Team 17, how could you sink so far....

the first worms and worm united were fantastic as a 2 person game. Had many an evening killing a mate and being killed.

Havnt played any others.
