I got an email today from Gameplay saying my pre-order wasn't early enough to guarantee me one and they have no idea when the next batch is, extreme shortage of consoles from all the reports.

Well done michael

Ive got a 360 on order (second in queue ) but was wondering whether we in the UK need to reserve a game, or are there likely to be enough games to go around?

I'd say you'll probably find the games you want somewhere.

Game said that they cannot guarantee the "full" systems will be available but they should be able to do the "core" system without the wireless controllers, hard drive etc.

Does anyone know if the acessories will be region coded, i.e. US wireless controllers connecting to a UK console? I am going to Florida in Feb so might get the core system and get the hdd and wireless controllers if they are much cheaper, at least that way, I can get a 360 on launch day.

I saw that and Kamino. To be honest, I wasn't that impressed. Might have been the 26 inch lcd they were on and I guess if it was on a 42 inch LCD it will be a different class to the current games consoles. Would have preferred to see PGR3 on it. Thinking about a PS3 as the 360 doesn't have HDMI output and my TV doesn't have component

Saw it today. COD2 didn't looked nothing more special than on a pc. Especially as there was no form of anti-aliasing. NFS looked good though.

With a screen as big as 42" at that distance from the screen it would look worse than the 26". Ideally you should be double the length of diagonal measurement of the screen away at least, and for a 42" screen that would mean standing about 3 metres away. Any closer than that and you'd start to see the lines on the screen, as there are no more pixels than on the 26" they're just larger.

Don't you find it hard controlling the FPS games with a hand controller? I just can't get on with it like the COD2 I have on PC, using the keyboard and mouse, I'd like an XBox 360, but all the best games I have on PC, and they look just as fantastic, I can't justify buying it for the car games. I wish they would make a 'mini' keyboard for the FPS games

I totally agree with you. With a mouse, you have total precision control, making a controller-based game seem worse than just "awkward and clumsy"

To see all the detail on a 26 inch lcd, you have to be about 2 inches from the screen.

COD2 wasn't awe inspiring either, too many jaggies etc. Might wait until next year to see what the PS3 is like.
