I know of the good ones with frame etc for a TV and Wheel, but I'm just after a seat on its own..
I could get something like this and still be cheaper than the pre-made seats..

But any ideas how to mount the seat so it is stable..? Or would it just be better to wait and get a pre-made one then chop it up..?
(Don't need/have room for the bits for the TV and Wheel)
Dave.

In my previous house, I used a seat out of a Metro (from a scrapyard £15.00) and mounted it to an old hifi stand which I'd cut in half straight down the middle (split front to back). The seat runners fitted perfectly onto the edge of the unit and so made the seat adjustable for any user size

How easy is it to mount then..?
If that's the case, i'll go to a scrapyard and try to pick a reasonable leather seat out from somewhere..
Dave.
The one I had needed 2 screws in each runner, took about 15 minutes to make, that included sawing the hifi unit in half. I keep meaning to make another, but never get round to it.
Make sure to measure the distance between the runners as they're mounted in the car and make sure it is the same when mounted to the unit.

Another thing is ease of removal from the car? Or would they take care of that for me
Thanks!!!
Dave.
Not sure what it would be like in a new car, but it was a piece of cake getting it out of the Metro I'm sure the scrappy would get it out if you were stuck, although they'll probably charge you an arm and a leg.
Just another thought, make sure the runners are straight or you may have trouble mounting them.
Just a few screws or nuts I presume?
Will have to find out the nearest scrapyard.. or i'll try and find a decent one locally on eBay.
Thanks everyone,
Dave.
Edit: found a local breaker via. eBay and emailled him.. Might be able to get a good deal
Otherwise i'll just bid.. also seen an old Mk1 MR2 seat for a Fiver and he'll deliver it free!

One here...
How the hell does that work though..?
Wouldnt you lean back too far.. If I could get hold of one cheap enough I'll just smash the bottom off and mount it on something

ebay is your friend
Go see your local friendly fabricator and ask if they will weld it onto a base. Bob's your uncle. Do two, then sell one to a local PH'er!
I'd do it in a second if I had the room for it. As it stands if one of these turned up in my house I suspect i'd come home to find it on fire in the garden with the Mrs dancing round it...
