Stuck in GTA: Gyms wont work

I have completed GTA SA but has anyone noticed that when you do your game completion is only at 50%?!
The so called last mission, "End of the line", gives you the credits and tells you you have completed but theres loads more!
Anyway. Hoping to get answers back form people past this stage as CJ is currently trying to date a girl from a Casino to steal her ID card but can't pull as his controller (moi) never took him to the gym because it was boring!
But the big problem. When ever I go to a gym it says " you have done enough for today, come back tomorrow" and wont let me use the equipment.
Aside from using a cheat (which I feel ruins the game) is there a way around this?
I have a feeling its actually a problem in the game software and I'll end up having to use a muscle cheat.

Never been able to find it - which Police station is it in? ... Maybe I should check out game-spot before I speak in future

Actually, no. I managed to bulk up my character by going to the gym again and again, and I didn't have to ask someone on the internet how.

I think this is either a bug or something done in the wrong order.
Not used any cheats here, completed the game in the story and all the side stories as well without asking people on the internet either :-)
now I just go on the odd killing spree but i am also locked out of using the gym. Have tried saving over a few nights (game time and real life) but it wont let me back on the machines, tried about a week in game time and still not allowing me to bulk back up, still at least i am not alone with this prob
Same as you code monkey, never ask for help or cheat as it ruins the game and its suprises.

I completed the game 100% and as CJ was losing muscle I went to the Gym to build him back up and had the same thing, no matter what you try it always says come back tomorrow, bit disappointing when you've done it 100% and can no longer use all the features, definitely a bug in the game.

I've done the casino mission already, but didn't get a dildo: I assumed it was part ofthe story line, so did that mission straight after I got it - just had to kill the runty little man she was with, then go in with the gimp suit, but had to follow her first. After a few more sessions she gives you the key card, then her car keys, etc. However, I'm still fairly rippling from earlier on in the game, so not sure how much muscle you need to carry on dating her.
Just spoken to a mate who says he has the international version (no working hookers with some other stuff taken out too). He's finished the story line, and can't use gym kit either, now CJ is just weedy or fat.

The storyline missions are only a small part of the game, there are lots and lots and lots and LOTS of other things you have to do to get 100% - I'm over 50% complete and I haven't reached the end of the game yet (I'm on the casino missions right now).
Some things you may not have done yet:
Firefighting
Paramedic
Taxi
Pimping
Vigilante
Trucking
Quarry
Valet Parking
Driving School 100%
Boat School 100%
Flying School 100% (well worth doing to get the Hunter (Apache) helicopter, which makes the vigilante missions mega-easy!!)
Bike School 100%
Oysters
Horseshoes
Photo Opportunities
Grafitti Tags
Triathalon races
Mountainbiking
etc etc etc
Either grab one of the many FAQs or buy the official guide book which has maps and photos and more detail, it's only a tenner. You'll be amazed at all the things you didn't know about!

When I killed the little runty man he dropped a double end dildo. I took that into the girls dungeon like room.

I have done all those other "missions" mentioned in the long post with exception of the photos, horseshoes, graffiti tags, oysters, etc because those ones are just dull. I prefer to play the game for its story line missions.
(but 99% of my game play is probably just fecking around destroying things and causing chaos!)
By pure chance I found another 2 horseshoes close to each other though if anyone else is looking.
One under the waterfalls outside a casino/hotel and the other in a small ali way behind a shop almost directly opposite.
Anyone else see the sign and the magazines/videos in the sex shop? Bloody funny! I took some pics of them, could post them if you want.
The funniest title for the mags/vids was definitly Hamster Love 2!

Difficulty: 2.5/10
Head to the Caligula's and start following the croupier. She drives really
weird...she'll pass any car in front of her, but she slams on the brakes at
every red light. Just keep your distance until she gets to the sex shop.
Follow her in and head to the changing rooms. After the kinky cutscene, go
into the changing room to get the gimp suit. On the way out, your car will
probably be gone, so steal a new one and follow Millie to her house near
Prickle Pines. When the gimp shows up, kill him and take the dildo from
him. Head inside and get laid.
Getting the card from Millie is easy. Show up with a gimp suit on between
14:00 and 18:00, or 2:00 and 10:00 and head into the marker. Instant sex.
There's no reason to ever have to take her out for dinner or do any of that
boring crap. You can also just kill Millie and come back later and break
into her house.
Many, many people have asked why Millie is never home. Sadly, I have no
answer to this question. She was there all three times I came to her house
with gimp suit and dildo ready. I have no fix to this problem. Anyway, get
her progress bar up to 33% (two scores with the gimp suit will get this),
and you'll get a call from her. Head into the house and steal the key card.
Woozie will call with a quick, "You da man!"
The best way to guarantee that Millie is home is to date her IMMEDIATELY
after this mission. Drive to the safe house in Prickle Pine, put on the
gimp suit, grab the dildo, and head over. Sex her up, save until she comes
back, and repeat until you can get the key card. I did this and had NO
problems at all.
Reward: Respect earned.

I've got bored of missions again and trying to break my wheelie record but using a motorbike. Did an impossibly long one on a BMX but its no fun without lots of speed and going the wrong way down the highway!

bigger challenge is attempting distance on two wheels in the cars
i can never manage anything much at all. but now and again i get a distance, and then forget about it till the next time i go round a corner fast and catch a curb or something and then it all starts again.
anyone know of any other way than 100% on the flight school to get the brown thunder?
