Tour 20 on Ridge Racer PSP

Anyone know how on earth you are supposed to beat the bl00dy rocket car on this tour?! It's a duel match. I managed to pull out about a 3 second lead into the last lap but he miraculously pulled out a shed load of nitrous and zapped me on the line :(

Anyone got any tips?

once you get in front of him from the start you need to drive so you can see him in your rear view mirror. everytime he tries to pass get your car in front so that he will boost you forwards. that's the only way that i can keep in front.
