Acknowledgement to FourWheelDrift whose original league format I have lifted in it's entirety and recreated here!

Pistonheads GTR Maserati Trofeo League!

First race is Monday 10th October

Races will be in alphabetical order:

Monday 10th October - Assen
Monday 17th October - Brands Hatch
Monday 24th October - Mantorp
Monday 31st October - Mugello
Monday 7th November - Oulton Park
Monday 14th November - Sugo
Monday 21st November - Zolder

Hopefully by laying it out in advance it gives people a chance to pick their races, and practice a bit too.

Few rules :-

Weight penalties
The winners, 2nd and 3rd place finishers will get weight penalties in the next race (this can be added by the host). 1st gets 30kg, 2nd gets 20kg and 3rd gets 10kg . If they win again they will get the same weight again added, as will 2nd & 3rd. If they finish outside the top 3 places in the next race then 10kg of weight is removed, they would lose the another 10kg (if they still had weight onboard if they finish outside the top 3 in the next race. This weight will be known by all via the results of the last race posted and will be added by the host during the closed player joining practice session where much pi$$taking and pre-qualifying merriment will be entertained.

Race format
Join in Practice session, no one goes out till all present who are racing.
20 minutes of Qualifying
20 minutes race. Server to start hosting at 9pm

IP Details posted on here for convenience.

Points:
1st - 10
2nd - 8
3rd - 6
4th - 5
5th - 4
6th - 3
7th - 2
8th - 1

One point for pole position
One point for fastest lap (seen on race completion screen at the end - host must not quit too soon)

As I say, this is lifted straight out of the original league - which I thoroughly enjoyed. I don't mind if we exchange this to Sundays - actually suits me better as I can't make 1 out of 3 mondays due to work shifts.

If Sunday is the consensus I'll edit tihs post - if not then Sunday nights can be sprint races and a general mess around, Mondays for "serious" league stuff.

For now I'll assume UncleDave will continue to host - if so isn't there a file he needs to keep after each race so we can publish the result?

Thoughts everyone?

oh crap, I knew I wouldn't write all this without needing an edit!

I am fine with hosting, and Sunday might be better for me aswell but don't mind really, my only reason is that it starts an hour earlier.

I suppose I can keep a record of weights/points scored aswell if needed... just let me know.

And i'm up for a practice yes!!

Dave.

Yay - I'm up for this.

I might be along tonight too (if I can just get this new 500w power supply connected to my desktop that I race on, my old 250w supply burnt out )

Funnily enough, I stopped playing GTR for ages as my PC kept locking up. Turned out it was the 250W power supply which couldn't keep up. Everything's rosy with a 600W supply!

I see there's a PH server running at the moment but I can't join - "Bad Password" but it hasn't given me the chance to enter one yet.

Sorry about that

The password is

PHLeague

Needs to be exactly like that, it's case sensitive aswell remember, so needs to be Capital PHL
If you're still having problems you might have to reinstall GTR, or it might be solved after a restart.

Thanks,
Dave.

I think we'd better stick to Mondays then since this is what most people have read on this post.. we can always change to Sunday after this week if preferred.. Today is just a mess around then..
I may run it open grid I fancy a spin in the Williams F1

Any track preferences?

Dave.

Sorry to hear that...
But that's a good opportunity for me to rake a few more points in

See you next week...

For the rest of us, I will put up a server now, running Assen if that's what we are racing tomorrow.. But I will run it open.. You can always vote to change the track later..

The server will be in the Lobby until things get sorted with DirectIP

Thanks!
Dave.

Tonight's race is with the Porker downloadable here: www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=212834&f=108&h=0

Grrrr my new power supply made no difference. I think maybe the motherboard has fried. Time to take it in for fixing properly

Maybe I should use this opportunity to get a newer motherboard and processor, I don't know if they still make motherboards for my 18 month old Celeron 2.6

There will be a mobo out there somewhere.. But just take the plunge! It will be better in the long run!

Dave

PS. See you tonight folks.. I'm drawing up a result table now - Not sure about file that needs to be kept, but I will post the results on here manually after the races..

Also, if people could be in the server as soon as possible. It will be up slightly earlier than 9pm - so if you could be there for 9:10 we can get on with Qualifying.

You could post results on here - www.mercia.biz/forum/

If your server is setup to record all results in full (each lap) I have an Excel spreadsheet that can create a webpage of the results/race and qualy.

I usually use the Hosting in-game now... The dedicated server used to have a bit of a history of being 'unstable'

I will try that tonight though, how do you turn the result log on? I'll have a look round but may not be able to find it hehe.

Dave.

Is it just me or is Assens the slippiest feckin course in the world - I keep understeering off some of the corners.

I've alliviated it by turning in later and hitting the apexs further on but it still feels as if there is marbles all over the shop!!!

Damn, I might not be around tonight. Have to go a kick to death a 3 port motorised valve on my central heating system that's not working and I'll need the power off for that.

Still at least it gives someone a chance to beat my best race lap from last time 2m14.688s

Ah, I was wondering what sort of pace you guys were running. Looks like a need to put a few more laps in then! I was quite happy with my 2:16.06

My best so far is a 2:15.8 so 2:16 is pretty quick! How FWD got a 2:14 I'll never know... look out to see if he takes any shortcuts
