In this months EVO (page 41), there is a new challenge.

This time it is a license test. It is international A test 7.

You have to negotiate a section of trial mountain in a RUF yellowbird with no aids. So this challenge will seperate the men from the boys! You have to get into the gold times to get a competitive entry and you could win a RUF DVD.

I think I'll be giving this a bash.

Post your times but don't post your pics just in case some thieving gypsy sends it in.

I seem to remember that was a hard test, I did the whole thing sideways I think a wheel is in order before I attempt

That's a tough one.
33.724 is my best, in the last two corners, it seems that sideways is fastest.

I think you might be right.

My best is 33.425.

I reckon I'll need to shave off at least two tenths to get a good enough time for the comp. Might even need to get under 33s. My mate saw me doing the test and jokingly suggested handbraking round the first corner, so I did and I somehow fluked it and got round a lot faster than normally! Predictably I then arsed up the next corner and I haven't been able to replicate the feat.

Jees that's fast. I don't know if I'm going to be able to go faster than you, might not bother entering!

Can't you go and buy a wheel? Then your times will drop!

Maybe I should! The official GT4 wheel is sold out it would seem. Its also £85.

I'll sell you a pic of my previous best (33.5ish)!

I'm going to have a stab at this one. 'Tis one of my favourite parts of the game!

This is much better than their last competition as I don't have time to play the game enough to win the cars that you needed to be competitive in their anything-goes 'Ring competition.

Looking forward to sneak sometime in when GF isn't watching

Also don't waste 5mins at a time getting to the last corner and then sticking the car into a barrier. Also there is the added incentive of a prize!

p.s. I just clicked on your profile, what sort of aerospace engineering are you doing? I ask because I'm doing Aero Eng at uni.

Right then I'll have a go tonight. I wonder if Evo has turned up yet... I think since they've started to do the unique covers for subscribers it is taking them longer to deliver. It was in the shops yesterday....

Bravo! A whole second quicker then I can manage! I might send my time in, with a bit of luck, I'll scrape onto the bottom of the "leader" board before someone in Singapore posts a 31 second time...

btw, was that made using the normal controller, or a wheel?

That's rapid. My best so far is 33.888, but haven't spent too long on it.

Did a 33.717 this morning after about 8 goes at it. Haven't sent it in because I know I can knock at least half a second off that. Bloody hard, I have to totally change my driving style to get it to turn in

Did a 33.926! That was after quite a few go's on friday night, looks like will have to get very low 33's or 32's to get featured in leader board in mag!

Looks like I'll be playing this all week then
