Borderlands 4 gameplay trailer
Discussion
Looks OK but I find it hard to summon much enthusiasm.
I loved Borderlands 2 - it fixed pretty much all the flaws in the first game and I absolutely played it and all the DLCs to death on my PS3. The 'SHIFT keys' that they put out for exclusive weapons and gear every so often were genius. I even got the PS Vita port (not great unfortunately) plus the PSVR version (surprisingly decent) and then later the PCVR version too.
But after that, nothing that they have put out has really been worth writing home about. I keep meaning to try to get into Borderlands 3 which I have on my PS5 (from PS+) and PC (free on Epic) but every time I start playing it ... meh.
I can't see myself rushing to get this unless it turns out to be flat out amazing with stunning player/YT reviews.

I am much of a similar mindset. Have a friend though who has pre-ordered and wil be playing it as soon as it comes out (I just don't understand this - pre-ordering is the bane of good sense). Just couldn't get into 3 at all - the annoying story line cuts scenes just left me not wanting to advance any further. I actually prefered playing through The Outer Worlds.I loved Borderlands 2 - it fixed pretty much all the flaws in the first game and I absolutely played it and all the DLCs to death on my PS3. BL2 was frustrating as you had to save-scum bosses and wait for the fun/silly/interesting guns to drop (as I'm time-limited, I ended up with an editor leveling-up the guns I liked).
BL3 there were so many fun/silly/interesting guns that a lot of them barely got used before another one turned up.
I'd like something in-between, please.
But otherwise, I'll happily blow through the next one.

Just picked it up this morning as, having finished Cyberpunk (again) recently and then going into a chunk of fantasy RPGs I really felt the need for another Sci-fi game. I tried with Starfield again but just find it so dull.
I had a quick 15 minute play and, after stopping almost immediately to lift some controller settings from a Reddit post (my god it was set up to be sluggish out of the box, really weird decision that) I was having fun, so looking forward to getting some quality time with it over the weekend.
It reminds me of the latest Halo (the open world and grappling hook I guess) which I enjoyed a lot so that's a good sign.
It's really my first foray into the franchise as I found the constant trudging around the map and having to run through the same enemies all the time pretty boring. At least this one gives you a vehicle!
