For all those GT4 fanatics:

Bought the game for the PS2 a couple of weeks ago, was doing well in the Beginner Events but i have now come to the Lightweight Cup. However, for the life of me whatever car i purchase (inc a mini) doesn't seem valid to enter the event - <3400mm

Any advice?

I seem to recall that it will give you a list of suitable cars in the menu when you select the race series. Think it flashes in Red or something?

other than that, you might need to use one of the dinky japanese cars. I think I bought a Honda Beat or Suzuki Cappacino (sp?) second hand and with a few extra ponies it was awesome!

I think I used a second hand Suzuki Cappucino, with a few enhancements

spend 2.5-4k on a Honda Beat, they can be tuned much more than the Capachincinchinooos, and handle about the same.

This was the first series I went in for (you win a Ginetta G4 for 3 golds, which was the only reason I bought the game). To the suzuki out first, but it gets a bit messy after tuning it up, and isn't very forgiving. Then bought a Honda Beat, and it was fine.

The car that's always out in front (2nd) when I race with the 200bhp G4 is either a suzuki Alto or cube or something (new car), or an old car something that looks like a MkI MR2, but smaller. I'll check tonight.

[edit-] sorry, didn't have time after work last night, will try again today.

Suzuki Kei - new car, and boxy, but seems ok, or the others mentioned above.
