You're talking about Video conversion yes?

I use PSPVideo 9 and it works just fine.

I use PSPWare on my Mac. They have a Windows version as well. It works very well, although video conversion is (predictably) slow.

Raify, Is the Conversion slow or fast In Your experience (e.g converting a 90 min film)

Thanks for your advice mate.

It's a 2-stage affair to go from DVD to PSP memory card. This site is a good 'how-to'

First you need to rip the DVD, using DVD shrink / decrypter or similar. Then the file you've ripped is converted by PSPvideo9.

It is fairly slow, I've only ripped and converted 20min Simpsons episodes so far, as I only have a 256mb card. I tend to set it running and do something else, so not sure how long it takes (also depends on your system). I would imagine a 90min film would take at least 1-2hrs (in total, both processes). I'm guessing really

yup already on the pc. But I have used dvd shrink and it took about another 30-40 mins to rip onto the PC

Geeting from dvd to pc then to PSP I have done it in under a hour using shrink and PSPvideo9.

the DVX software i use for ripping the actual DVD to avi is pretty damn good but it takes sooo long. It does one pass then another then does a compressability check then another two passes then i realise its 11pm and the thing is still on a pass.... Then add another 40 mins for the MP4 conversion...

The end result is ok though - could do with boosting the volume though a tad too quiet...

The speed will be dependant on how fast your PC is, video encoding is a very CPU intensive task. Put simply, the faster your CPU, the quicker it will encode.

Ok that may be why mine does it faster. FX-57 and 2Gb ram
