Xbox Starfield on game pass

This is interesting when Starfield was launched I just purchased the game expansion and played the main game using Gamepass.

I had Ultimate.

I’ve since binned Ultimate off and just play on PC.

Making some space on my Xbox drives tonight and was going to move Starfield to a storage drive but accidentally launched it and it ran !

Synced with the pc and I’ve had an hour playing.

So how does that work I assumed that even though I had the expansion now with no ultimate the main game would not run on Xbox ?
