Hi all,
I know nothing about these consoles. My son(11) has asked for one for Christmas and a quick search shows there are more than one version. We have a new OLED 4k TV so can't use 8K anyway. Any other differences? Do they come with two controllers and all the must haves.
I assume one would sign up for some sort of an online subscription for all the games as opposed to buying physical cards(games)
TIA

Two current choices, an S and a X
The S is cheaper, the X has more performance/storage.
Xbox game pass is pretty good, library of games for a tenner a month. Recommended.
The S is probably sufficient, the storage might get annoying but if you have a fast connection downloading stuff when you want it is probably ok. (And actually cloud gaming works well for us)
They’ll only come with a single controller.
My standard question is “what system do their mates have?” and then buy that one.
