I know I'm a few years late on this one but I bought my kids a Meta Quest 2 headset for Christmas. I can not get over how fantastic it is! I bought the Eleven Table Tennis game and it feels exactly like playing in real life! So incredibly immersive!

Is anyone else addicted to this thing?

Have you had a go on it? It's blown my mind. Best £250 I have ever spent!

We did the same this year, ours hasn’t put it down either!

Half Life 2 with the VR mod works amazingly well.

Richie’s Plank Experience is great fun at a party for everyone to try, especially if you have a real plank you can lay on the floor

My lad asked for one too - I've had a quick go on 'Beat Sabre'.
I had my reservations, but it's incredible really isn't it?

Just got the 3 today after popping round to friends who bought a 2 for their son. I've played with tech since 1982 when I got a ZX Spectrum and this by far the most impressive thing I've ever played with.

The only downside is that I wear glasses so I've ordered a pair of slot in prescription lenses as the experience without the "sponge" isn't so great.

I got prescription lenses from VR wave. First for my Q2 and latterly, the new Q3

They've utterly transformed the experience. You'll love it!

Just had a quick go on the Xbox app

Pretty impressive and the screen for playing Xbox is huge. I believe you can have several screens playing stuff at the same time in the view

Wait, please explain this. So in the Headset you download an xbox app? Then you play games via the Xbox controller?

It’s the cloud gaming app, works as long as you have games pass ultimate. Connect a Bluetooth controller and away you go. You can stream anything on gamepass.

Just managed another go on it playing a game called walkabout golf, it’s 6.99 at the moment and it’s superb.

I still can't put this Quest down. I also randomly got myself a gaming laptop for Christmas and I've now got it connected to steam VR.

Half Life Alyx. Absolute gaming perfection! Easily the best game I have ever played.

I'm a huge fan of HL 1 and 2 and I presumed that Alyx would be a quick rehash of these. It's a completely new game designed for VR. The gun play is great. you have to reach behind your head to grab a new mag from your backpack. You then have to press a button to eject the empty mag and push the new mag into the pistol. Tring to do all that when a zombie is rushing you is terrifying! It is much more realistic than a quick tap of a keyboard key. It is also worthwhile searching the drawers and cabinets to find "resin" blocks. You can use these in the replicator boxes to upgrade your gun with sights and perks.

So good.

If golf is your thing then Golf+ is the game to get

I've had it since the original quest when it was just a putting game, then a driving range, and then I helped out with the full golf course Beta development. The team have done an incredible job the last couple of years and they have TopGolf, Callaway and PGA Tour as partners with some wonderful full-size golf courses, many of them famous courses.

You can even buy an actual golf grip, 3D printed, which attaches to the controller and you just swing normally with both hands on the grip. Awesome. Want to open the clubface and play a Phil Mickelson flop shot? No problem.

Want to have heavy metal music blasting out while you play the course? Not a problem. Want to hit your mate across the head with a golf club while hes lining up a putt? No problem. Cracking game.

I got one last year, I highly recommend a bat attachment for table tennis.

It's quite weird playing someone across the globe on it.

I've done painting on mine which is relaxing.

I will be cranking mine up tonight I think as im sick of the sight of the missus biggrin

I think you can take the lens rims out I had issues last year when I set it up.

Golf certainly has come along since the days of Leaderboard on the C64. This takes it to a (w)hole new level.

Is the PS VR4 the equivalent on the Meta Quest 2 connected to a gaming PC?
