Automobilista 2 1.5 update
Discussion
Anyone playing this with a DD wheel?
I sailed the seven seas many years ago and played it on my G29 and kinda hated the driving physics compared to more refined sims, I'm awaiting delivery of a DD1 and thinking of purchasing the game + the 2020-2022 season pass.
Is the new 1.5 update a complete game changer that moves the game closer to full sim? I rated it as 80% sim, 20% arcade and I really prefer something that is 95% sim with 5% arcade, it's still a game after all. Something that does this well for me is Dirt 2.0, it's pretty full on but gamified enough that it's fun, where Assetto Corsa seems to suck the fun out of the game due to it trying to imitate real life to the point it's a bit st in my opinion.

I'm gonna give it a go over the weekend. Picked it up in this bundle, great value for anyone who wants to try a few different sims:

So had a fair old lay of this over the weekend with my CSL DD.
What a fantastic game! So much fun to be had with the included cars and tracks. I really enjoyed the Group C, GT1 and GT3/4 cars. The majority of open wheel cars also have great physics.
I have however found some bum notes, anything with more vintage tyres seems to lack any feel and just floats around. The same can also be said for the road cars and the Caterhams. I'm not sure if all cars have had the physics updated but it seems like 3/4 are done.
When you get a decent car the game feels very good, you can feel the grip come and go, can feel the weight transfer and also when wheels are about to lock under braking.
Overall i'm loving it, and thats coming from a die hard Assetto Fan.

Yeah I just seen this bundle. Honestly even if I hate it, the pack is an absolute steal so I guess I'll own it regardless.https://www.humblebundle.com/games/ultimate-racing...
I've not played AMS 2 for a while (DD2 user here) but, thought it was superb! The FFB could be a little hit and miss depending on the car you drove but, they may have fixed that now as I'm sure there has been a few updates since I last dabbled.
You guys might also want to check out https://www.stoopidchallenges.com/ - A time trial league made up of a friendly (but, competitive) bunch of chaps, including several PHers which I believe has migrated from PCars to over to AMS2. I keep meaning to dive back in but, it can be a bit of a time sink once that 'just one more lap' mentality kicks in!
