GTR - Automotordrom Brno
Discussion
hey guys, in anticipation of Monday's race I've had a bit of a go at Brno - can anyone give me an idea of what sort of time they are running in GT/NGT cars?
I can run a fairly consistent 2:01 in a Corvette, but only about 2:07s in an NGT (f360). Suspect I am a way off the pace, but would like confirmation, trying to decide on the move up to GTs.

I thought it was Enna next?
That's what I think FWD's league page says anyway... If I'm wrong then bugger I've been practicing the wrong track, not too much of a problem as I've been mainly twiddling the car setup to something that doesn't have the hideous understeer of all the supplied ones I've tried.

It's good to practice Brno since exit speed is vital to be quick and if you can do it there you can take it to any track and be quicker.
And it is Enna next watch those tyres
Oh god....1st lap.......I might elect to start from the back or maybe even the pitlane
PS, my times, you might need to be logged into GTRRank to see the link - http://gtr.gplrank.info/viewOtherLaptimes?user_id=15500
all laptimes in Sim mode usual aids off, fuel & tyre wear off though for hotlapping (fastest times) and no kerb cutting.

The best way to see how quick you are is use GTRank
If you can qualify near the benchmark times you'll be somewhere near the front.
GTRank for Enna GT is 1m32.977 and for NGT 1m39.428

ok so judging by that I am about 10 seconds off the pace at Brno.
I remember playing Toca online a lot and one day I had an epiphany, realised I could carry much more speed through corners and was suddenly faster and started winning races. Just have to hope for the same thing to happen in GTR I guess!

The best way to gain time is to find out where your losing it
Have a look at this guys replays and watch his lines and braking points it might show you where your going wrong

FK!! - Enna's got some nasty kerbs! Only done a few laps - don't think it's a circuit I'm gonna like (you can't muller the kerbs ). Very tight chicanes - and it looks pretty narrow in some places
Looks like I might have to attempt a couple of races there over the weekend to try and improve....
One question though:
How do you set up the quick chat keys - as I have a feeling I might be saying 'sorry' and 'pass on the ....' a few times
Cheers
Chris

Thanks for this Jimmy / FWD. after another hours practice this morning I can now manage about a 1:32.4 hotlap, and my race pace is in the low to mid 1:30s
However when the sweaty palm pressure of monday night rolls around, who knows what will happen. Plus a tiny lapse in concentration at either of those two chicanes and it's goodnight, game over.
