Multiplayer (3-6) online games

Has anyone got any recommendations for a multiplayer online game suitable for a small number of people (3-6)?

A group of mates have, over the years, played starcraft, age of empires, quake and half-life and now we're looking for something new.

Delta Force Xtreme?

I'm playing Blackhawk Down at the moment and have played all the others, its a quality little game.

Counter Strike source. Their are small servers and its the best online game their is.

Vehicle Capture the Flag is great fun.

if you have not tried Counter Strike of any flavour it is well reccomended.

Something like Rainbow six. Can do 'terrorist hunts' with 3-6 of you on co-op. Pretty cool.

Mmmm. But VCTF is more of a bloodbath.

Assults are good with 4-5 a side. 3 might be too few.

Depends what you want. I've been enjoying Warhammer 40000 - Dawn of war as a violent, resource easy (no stupid gathering to be done) RTS. Multiplayer should be a laugh.

Or, buy 6 PSPs and play GTA in the pub.

Anyone played rome: total war online... how does it work with more than 2 people? Do you have to watch each other fight a battle before you start yours?

always play command and conquer general with mates on lan or online
anywhere between 2 and 6 players normally

probabaly only costs a a tenner npw

Started playing warhammer, 40,000 - dawn of war. Very good, lots of fighting, not too much resource gathering, only needs one hand to play so can smoke and drink at the same time, clear winner after at most an hour and a clear loser that everyone else can take the piss out of.

Just the job.
