Hmm, a quattro with all the available mods and big turbo seems to only have about 350bhp on GT4, so it'll take a while to get round. I was hoping to be able to drive a full-on 750bhp nutter quattro, but it's not to be. 350bhp is hardly any more than mine has - though I guess it'll make a good target time if I ever take it there.

To add insult to injury, the b'stards have even given it a crappy 4-cylinder engine note...

Will have a bash at a time tomorrow.

(I'm still stunned by the fellow in the other thread who's about a second away from a sub five minute lap with the F1 car. I've done 5:20 with a couple of offs, but there's no way the spins cost anything like 20 seconds. Jesus, I'm 32 and my reactions have gone already.)

I shall attempt to go find out, I'm hoping for a 9 modded, maybe an 11 unmodded.

I think i may be the bloke you are referring to. I am flabbergasted by the current fastest lap in evo, a 4'53 in a Sauber C9! My best is 13s slower and it was perfect. Must be some cheating, same as guy who says he can lap in 5'17 in a stock M3 gtr race car on sports tyres. Impossible.

Had to go back to my prelude for the last car I had that they have modelled. 9.27 with a standard prelude 91 si vtec on road tyres.

9.01 with my old 200sx (s13) with stage one turbo and sports exhaust... slidey.

Ah yes, it was you! I can get down to a pretty quick pace, but it seems that luck takes over to a degree when you have to get it just right over the bumps or you have a big crash. You think you've taken exactly the same line twice, but obviously there was a very slight difference. Hmm, might try really soft springs - though that doesn't seem to have made much difference so far. 4:53 with a Group C car? I don't have the Merc, but neither the Nissan 92 or the Toyota 88C can get anywhere near that in my hands, even with 1100bhp...

(Apologies for slight thread hijack.)

I think the reason I managed the fast times was because I was supposed to be studying for exams and I needed to keep myself sane during breaks. I always play way more computer games around exam time! I know wat you mean about the bumps, the Sauber seems to to demolish the bumps whereas the f1 car can get thrown off the road.

To get back on topic-

I haven't actually been bored enough yet to try taking a corsa around the 'ring. It would take longer than my concentration span. I can't really complain about the calibre of car considering I don't pay anything towards the corsa other than petrol now and again.

My friend took his corsa round, took him about 10.5mins, but I reckon it can be done quicker.

I took a Jazz around, took me a smidgen over 10, which really makes me wonder about Clarksons driving ability in an S-type...Jazz has this really annoying engine in gt4 tho, you have to try it to see. My souped up Jazz with Nos managed it in under 8 mins :]

I'm going to throw a Vectra around the ring tonight... that should be good for a laugh.

I haven't managed to find a smart 4-2 as yet, but I don't really have enough time to try to run that round!!

8mins or thereabouts in identical power trim to my actual car, I think.

Having spoken to him, I believe he is mistakenly taking the end time reading at the gantry rather than at the end of the lap.

Because that's how most people measure their real ring laps as that's where you have to stop i'd guess, muppets though.

I know what you mean by muppets, but there are still plenty of good and responsible people who time themselves on TF laps. It's a personal judgement call. Most experienced Ringers grow out of it when they realise they're never going to impress anyone but we've all been there.

Bog standard M3, straight out of the box, no traction, no ASM, 7mins 57s

Think I can get a couple more seconds off that, but thats it.

TOMS Toyota managed a 6 mins 58s.
