New PC on order, finally something worthy of todays games:)

Ordered a AMD 3200, 1GB RAM, 256mb Radeon X700 PCI Express from Carrera.

How does this compare to other systems people are running and with what result.

I was considerin a 6800GT but out of budget for the moment....

See you online soon

I have not really followed GTR since it was released, I guess there is plenty of 3rd party tracks etc already available?

Is there a PH league yet?

Plus the ultimate question...is it as bloody hard as GPL?!

Yes

Yes

and a big YES

Your PC setup seems great and will run GTR beautifully. Make sure you get a good steering wheel and pedals if you haven't already!

hopefully my copy will arrive on Saturday, so I might be up for a race on Monday if I can keep it on the track most of the time by then. Don't mind being a mobile chicane too much but don't really fancy ruining someone else's race with my newbie accident

If you want to race with a nicely controllable car try the Gilette Vertigo. It handles very nicely, sounds good too, little slower in top speed than the F360 (NGT class) on Barcelona's long straight but is great around the twisty bits. Don't be concerned if you need to run any aids it's better to stay on track and enjoy yourself than crash off every lap, but I doubt you'll do that anyway if your GPL'ing is anything to go by

Welcome back Rob & DMan Hope to see you both online soon. I find the GTR cars much easier to drive than GPL so you should not have any problems.

Again the main thing is not to have any accidents as sometimes it can take 30 secs to get out of a gravel trap, and unlike GPL there is no Shift-R to fix everything. So if you harpoon off at every corner your car will soon be bust and you'll be out of the hour long race

Hey D_Man, were you just in the Spa race as David?

Welcome back - I didn't put two and two together during the race. You were far too competitive if you only got the game today

I must try harder

Yeah that was me, Gameplay dispatched my copy yesterday first class and shockingly enough it got here today.

I'd played the demo when it came out so as the race was Spa I thought I'd jump in, did at least know where the track was heading most of the time

PS - sorry for lunge manouvre at hairpin Diver it was the "Snakey Jim Remoulds' I choose for the race, could have done an 80 lap race judging by their temps after the race good dice tho

No problem, I saw you coming, kept out of your way and nipped past you on the inside as you went well wide

I had a cheeky witticism half typed out to goad you as I was going past the pits, but Eau Rouge appeared too quickly for me to enter it safely.

Great dicing

Hi D_Man, I don't think i've raced against you in GPL but it will be fun to do so in GTR. Are you going for the style/power over substance GTs or the muich more fun NGTs?

I'm sure we've raced against each other in GPL as we both come up as DM in the chat and cause mass confusion

Not decided on GT or NGT yet, I'd like to bolster the NGT field as there don't seem to be too many people using them but I find the GTs easier to drive at the mo
