Just been reading all the threads about playing GTR online, on a PS2.
What do I need to get online with my PS2? I've got broadband and wi-fi at home at the moment. What do I need to hook the PS2 up to this?

Isn't GTR just a pc game? fellow clio boy!!

If you have a new ps2 (the slim one) you are ready to go online you just need an ethernet cable to your router. Don't go wireless with the ps2 I've been told it slows it down alot, (but I can only get a 512k connection.)
If you have the old big ps2 you will need a network adapter and the the ethernet cable.
I my opinion the only good online racing game for the ps2 to date is toca 2. There is more arcade style "need for speed" and other bolt on boy games but be prepared to race against 13 year old boys in there bedrooms with no racing knowledge at all who WILL thrash you!!!

I use a wireless bridge to connect the PS2 to my broadband, had no speed problems at all, even when my BB was 'only' 512k.

Definitely check out the uk.playstation forums for the guides on getting online, it's much more difficult than it should be!

I didn't try it, I was just advised not to,( one of those spotty muppets in comet!) may be I'll do it now so that I can move my ps2 from the office!!

You can play Gran Turismo online, by fooling the PS2 into thinking it's on a local LAN. You need to use software called Xlink. I haven't bothered (even though I only bought the online hardware for GT4!) it sounds like more of a ball ache than getting the Ps2 online in the first place!

Details of Xlink here, here and here
