Idea for GTR league one make cups

Firstly, FWD and co thanks for setting up the league. Its great fun and is nice to have races where people care about their driving manner and don't sit around causing needless pileups.

Secondly, I have had an idea about some one make one-off races, or cups as it were. How about something like a race at Donington or Estoril (or another smallish twisty track) using one make of car only, i.e the Lotus Elise.

The racing on the league at the mo is very very good, but a few one-offs using the same equipment would make things extra-interesting. I mention the Elise because its a good handling car and even though its slower than GTs etc its still good fun. Using a car like this would also allow us mere NGT mortals to comfortably race in identical equipment to you GT guys.

I attempted to do a race on a public server a few weeks ago where all of the field were in Elise's only. We were at Donington and it was going well until some moron decided to park facing the wrong way and smash everyone.

What does everyone think about this? Do you reckon it will be a nice idea? We could run a few one-offs after this first league run has finished, or inbetween league race nights if people can make it. I get such itchy feet between league race nights that it makes me mad!! lol!

We could extend the idea to maybe doing two 20 min sprint races or something too, although this is getting away from the endurance idea that is proper GT racing.

Any other ideas etc let me know.

And there are quite a few add on single class/make Cups too if anyone wants to do them as well.

There is actually a car set for Formula Renault cars on GreaterGreen too. Me thinks this needs some more looking into!!

I've got the FReanults. Haven't tried them for ages though.

Latest car out is the Nissan Skyline GTR. Coming soon the McLaren F1 LM (I'm beta testing it) and then the Aston Martin DB9 (at 3d modelling stage needing conversion).

There is talk of the Virtua_LM Sports Prototypes from F1C possibly being converted, now that would be good

Sounds good - level playing field with the onus on set-up and drivability. Also like the idea of a shorter race, it will make everyone push a little harder.
