World of Tanks - anyone playing?
Discussion
I don't play anymore (computer is borked) but there is a PH clan - VBRJ.
If I could find the time, I'd love to play (still working here right now) as my son plays on his laptop and it'd be the ideal time to do some platooning. Maybe i'll have a crack at it this weekend.
I still really like the game and Wargaming are throwing lots of premium time and incentives in to it at the mo. Still a watcher of Quickybaby on Twitch too, usually after having consumed far too much booze cooking Sunday Roast.

I played a lot of WOT on console, but I stopped when they added the utterly stupid "Mercenary" tank tree. French tier X heavy tank chassis with a Chieftain torrent and 120mm gun, except it's a 3 round auto loader, no thanks. It also became obvious that a lot of concessions were being made so the Xbox 360 users could continue to play. By the time the Xbox One X came out and the 360 was ten years old, many wondered by Wargaming were so keen to keep people in 10 year old tech playing the game.
I started playing WOWS on console but enjoyed it enough to get a gaming laptop to play the PC version, which is vastly superior to console.
Now that I've got a powerful laptop, I may play PC WOT. I still regularly watch Quickybaby's streams so I'm up to date with the goings on in the game. With all the daily XP boosters, XP bonus games, national fragments etc, it seems that you can get up the tech trees in incredibly short times these days.

Played a lot a while back, but became disenchanted by the nerfs and general toxicity of the playerbase, and jsut can't be bothered now.
I kinda got fed up and bored some time ago, too... I pop in occasionally, but can't be bothered with the grind, I just play a few favourite tanks at maybe tier 5-7 then pop off again.Crossout - build your own Mad Max vehicle - is sort of similar, and much more fun

Just realised I play World of Tanks Blitz. Is it much different?
I think the lower tiered games, up until you have 100 battles under your belt are mostly against bots, or perhaps one human on the other side. It is shockingly easy, I managed to get an 82% win rate fairly quickly.I might give the regular WOT a go on my PC however and see how I get on (probably not very well as my skills are rubbish).
I play quite a lot. Somehow blowing things up is good at reducing stress
Also not very good though although played enough to get a couple of tier 10 heavies (Obj277 and IS7). Also recently started playing the british line of medium tanks and have got myself up to a centurion mk7/1.
I think my favourite tank is probably the IS-3 although that might be because games are easier down at tier 8
Still struggle to get my victory ratio up to 50% though

If you look at the server stats, most people play Tiers 5-8.
People think they have to rush up to TierX because of the Youtubers. Fact is the gameplay at that level is broken with super tanks from clan wars and 6 skills crews.
Also you lose money unless you are brilliant because ammo and repair costs are soo high.
I enjoy 6 7 and 8 far more. Cromwell, Comet, P44 Panterra, T44, IS3 and T10 are my favourite tanks where I feel I can make a difference.

I play loads. Up to 30000 games and almost 7 years of playing it now.
I still really enjoy it. I was originally in clan with loads of people from all over Europe which was great (and my wife and I visited some WOT friends who lived in Maastricht) but that clan died a death so I'm in a UK-centric one now.
It has it's faults but what game doesn't?

I used to play console, but even for the xbox, the graphics are soo bad.
Xbox 360 I guess? It looks good on Xbox One X, in fact it was only when PC moved over to the new graphics engine that PC was the better looking game. With the fancy grass effect they added into the Xbox One version, they gave 360 players an advantage; when poking a ridge line, XB1 players could have their vision obstructed by the pretty grass, blowing gently in the breeze. Players on the 360 had no grass to reduce unnecessary load on the old console so they had no obstructions.
