I haven't bought a new game for a little while and was thinking back over the ones I have really enjoyed since getting the PS2. I bought a game called Freedom Fighters for under £10 on Play.com a year or so ago and it was amazing. A shooting/war game I'd happily recommend anyone & well worth the risk of a lowly tenner.
I also noticed that Transformers for the PS2 is now being sold in places for a similar price and thought it worth mentioning as this is another classic, better than 90% of other games yet was released without much hype and I never see it mentioned anywhere.
So, there are my two recommendations for seriously underrated games you should give a go. Do any of you know of any games which blew you away yet no-one else knows about? Lets be avin 'em...

When I had my PS2, my hands down favourite game was Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit II.
I never had so much fun in a game before (came close though with Burnout 3 for the Xbox), and nailing the corners with a perfect drift in a Macca F1 LM was the best feeling in the world.
I need to get out more.

PC -
Soldiers of Anarchy, great little RTS. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, you command several individual soldiers who gain experience, you can buy different present day weapons/vehicles such as AK-47s, SA-7, BMP-1, TU-34, Hind, etc., etc.
Nexus - The Jupiter Incident, fairly new space strategy game /sim where you control several ships through missions that you can upgrade.
Ground Control, fatally flawed but fantastic looking and playing RTS with units that look like real tanks/marines instead of futuristic flying tanks, etc.
Check out the Sold Out software section of www.mx2.co.uk for lots of games for £3.99 delivered...
