Anyone else found the pre 1970-550 BHP racer for a mere 58,000Cr., that outperforms all the other historics?

Not the Buick special? That thing is an animal, if it's not that then i'm not sure which one you're talking about.

Spot on Steve - I've noticed in all levels so far of GT4, if you look carefully enough - they've snuck in at least one diamond in the rough!

Well, when you first start the game and have to buy your first car, there isn't much to inspire.
However, from memory, in the Mitsubishi Used cars. there's a tame looking white Lancer. But read the figures, it comes with a 250 bhp motor, making it (IMO)the best of the bunch.

It is found in the tuners section but it's actually American.

Makes a cracking rally car as well if you spend a bit of time setting it up so it'll actually turn in. Makes a lovely noise too. Bit of a bargain car really, mines running well over 640bhp IIRC

I bought that last night after reading your post. I then went to enter some races hoping that I'd finally be able to win some of them and found out the car didn't meet the criteria. 'Unmodified cars only' was flashing red. Doh! Wish I'd checked that before spending £30K+.

Also funny that when I tried entering a hot-hatch race which would accept Golf's it wouldn't accept this one, saying it was the wrong type of car ???

I would recomend the Toyota Trueno GT Apex SS version that appears in the used cars on the odd occasion. It is not a speed demon by any means, but the handling is just sublime. One of the best RWD cars to actualy drive. It's a great drive on the ring. Anybody else tried this car ?

I've tried it and found it perfect for drifting with some of the road tyres on it.

Certainly can. There's not a massive amount of power left in the engine (mines got 631 bhp, which is as far as it will go), but you can upgrade the suspension, brakes, tyres, give it the full lightweight treatment (IIRC, could be wrong on the last one) and a rear wing. Makes a very nice, if under-steery car. Variable Centre Diff controller is a must
