Half Life Graphics Card Minium Requirements

Trying to start half life 2 and the graphics card requirement is : Directx 7 level graphic card.

mine is the Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 version 6.14.10.4403

What do i need to do to ensure this games runs smoothly ?
will i need to buy the new graphics card ? or update the drivers on my current card ?

i've also got an fx5200, and HL2 and counterstrike source
work just fine. make sure youve got the latest drivers,(i
think its detanator for Geforce cards)

Also the new version of direct x (version 9.0c, from
microsoft.com, or its normally on new game cd's).

when you finally connect to STEAM, there will then be a $hitload of updates, and then off you go.

As for smoothly at hi-resolution, you'll probably need an upgrade cos the 5200 isn't exactly 'new' tech

I have a 64MB GeForce 3. It works *fine*. Given the amount of stuff going on it really shouldn't, but somehow it just does!

upon starting the game, the images stick and i cannot get past the opening stage ! as the images on the train just become very slow !
