PS2 - Enthusia - first thoughts
Discussion
I'm finding GT4 a bit boring now that I've completed about 75% of the game. Looked around and bought this after reading a few decent reviews. As I've got GT4 as well I'll compare it to this. I've only played it for a little while so far, so my feelings may change.
Menus:
GT4 i think has it. The menus seem slow to load on Enthusia. Also, pressing triangle doesn't always take you back to the previous menu like on GT4 which was a handy shortcut.
Cars:
First car I used was an original mini! Great laughs. They seem to have a lot of drifting spec cars, like 200SXs, Japanese touring cars etc. Looks like Porsches etc feature as well. About even with GT4 then so far.
Controls:
Better than GT4 although very similar. Advantage is that R1 and L1 are clutch and handbreak which makes it easier to get the tail out into corners. Better than pressing Circle on GT4 for handbreak. Other controls very similar.
In Game:
Biggest advantage with Enthusia is their VGS feature. This is a Visual Gravity System, or a little icon in the bottom centre of the screen which tells you where the weight distribution is on the car. Very handy and quite a cool little feature.
Playability:
Enthusia seems as good if not better so far. Drifting is easier and you don't get the natural understeer you seem to have in GT4.
Crashing:
On GT4 some levels were easier by bouncing around corners. On enthusia you can't cheat in this way. After every race you get a point system, where crashing lowers your points. These points allow you to tune the cars and help for ranking etc. I think this is a good feature.
Overall:
It's still VERY early days having only played it for about an hour or so.
Anyone else played it?
