The background colour depends on the date. Each month it is a different colour. If you are desparate to chance it, you will have to update the date.

there was a leak of some firmware update a while ago, that had suggestions of the wordpad/spreadsheet/calendar functionality in it... apparently could screw up your PSP, but sony offered to replace any PSP's compromised by the update, as it was a sony leak...
hence the possibility of firmware updates.. there are already some around, that you download to your PC, copy to a memory stick, and bung in your PSP.. can't remember what the current ones do, but a couple of the guys at work have done it..
if it's on your PC, some clever buggers will fiddle with it to everyone's delight!

Ok, I need help now. That infernal GP3 software that changes files straight to the PSP keeps giving me error reports when I try to convert an AVI file. That includes all the Brunters Runs!
I have downloaded about 30 Simpsons episodes and have managed to compress the 60-70gb files to 5-7mb. So I can fit a ton of episodes on the 1gb stick.
What program can I use to convert the AVI files? I tried VLC software from VLAN but didn't know how to do it. Any suggestions?

Where did you download the episodes from and how did you compress the file to sucha small size ??
On the former, there's a torrent site on the web. Do a Google for simpsons torrent and you're likely to find it.
On the latter, I have no idea! I managed about 55Mb.
Animation can be compressed a bit more than normal video with lower bit rates, but to get a 10th of the size, I'd expect bit rates of less than 50, which I would have thought would look cack.
Having said that, when I first started trying to convert stuff before Christmas, I had a few trials where a small AVI file would balloon in size when done for the PSP. Never did figure it out...works reliably now though.
