has anyone bought one of these?

It's one of the stangest cars on the game! Put a stage four turbo kit on it (only mod it'll let you do) and it takes it up to 991bhp!

this results is no acceleration until you hit about 70mph and then it takes off like a rocket!!

Handles brilliantly, very fun car to drive due to the added incentive of not hitting that barriers. If you do you'll be waiting about 10 seconds to get going!

Chaparell

America... Top right. £1,100,000

there's another equally nutty looking Can-Am Fan-car made by them... I have my sights set on it!

There is another car that I'm looking for in the game, but having trouble finding. I thought it was the other Chaparell, but I had a look at the Chaparells last night and it's not.

It looks like a Can-Am racer. Wedge shaped, closed wheel, open top with a great big park bench style spoiler about 4 foot in the air. I've seen in on a couple of videos aroung the 'net.

Anyone know the one I mean?

The Toyota 7 vaguely fits that description...
(it's the prize car for missions 25..29)

That's the one, thanks!

Shame I'll never, ever manage those missions Same as I'll never get the Jay Leno Tank Car or the Model T.

Love the Chapparal 2D. Just bought it and the J (Sucker) yesterday, and have done a few laps of the Ring with the D. Absolutely great to drive, as it should be, since it won there!
The J is faster but much more skittish, have only done one lap, on extra hard race tires. Trying to get a feel for the downforce, have to try out different tires.
BTW - the real Chapparals had 3 speed, automatic transmissions, wouldn't surprise me if they had ratios exactly like those in GT4.

And there was one with a foot operated wing adjustment. Pressing the pedal moved the wing to a low-drag near-horizontal position. Releasing the pedal reverted the wing to high downforce, high drag configuration.
