I was thinking about this just now...

I said on the other thread that we should run it on Watkins Glen but this doesn't have all cool stuff you get on the GTR tracks - the livetrack that means as we go round rubbers goes down on line and marbles build up off it - I think that over a 1 hour race this would make it more interesting so I think we should run on a GTR original track... Not sure where.

Also it might be cool to have weather on.. what do people think about that.

SO I propose:

8:00pm practice

8:45pm qualy

9:15pm race start

1 hour race. 1 mandatory pit stop.

track: Barcelona or Donington National. ?

Weather + safety cars etc. all on.

sound ok?

Barcelona for me, I'm bored with Donnington. rest sounds good, altough I wouldn't bother with the safety car as most of us get out of gravel etc quick enough

4 of us now

COme one bb, AJ, PV and FWD

It'd be cool to have a "packed" race.

We're at Spa by the way as I thought it was a good track to choose

Sorry guys, the PC crashed again. It only seems to happen with GTR. I've given it enough chances - it's a great game but it simply isn't stable for me.

Have a look on the semi-official forum - there was a sticky on screen stutter that really helped improve GTR on my machine.

Basically it involves setting up a hardware profile where you disable all but the essential Windows services - this gives the maximum resources for the game. I was able to go from struggling at 640x480 to full detail at 1024x768 with a good frame rate. With just configuration changes.

I just edited this line in my players PLR file, chaning it from "0" to "1"

High Process Priority="1" // Improves FPS on some systems, but may conflict with some background applications

Plus I have nothing else running. I run 1280x1024 at 75hz, normally with all details for hotlapping and AI races but I had to turn things down a bit for last nights online game at Dusk_Spa as the frame rate slowed at a couple of places.

Plus if anyone still gets stuttering or low FPS at Dusk/Dawn/Night Spa there are some low res textures here that might help - www.m4driving.it/download/8117.html

No problems with the performance - I'm often running at > 100 fps and never lower than 45. It just decides to lock up for no apparent reason and I have to power off the machine.

The only thing that comes to mind is that the PSU isn't up to the job... that's a hassle to change but I'll look into it.
