Hello, i'm new to this forum and only recently discovered the GTR game that is being raved about on here.
Yesterday I installed the v1.00 demo and thought that the game was excellent, even though I was playing with keys.
I have however spotted a problem. I know its only a demo and not the final product but after a few bits of driving followed by replays my dashboard display disappears. I have the default view set as the cockpit view and it is really annoying when the dash display goes, I have no idea of speed or gears or anything.
I am asking this because I was wondering if anybody had trouble with this when playing the demo, but it was resolved when they bought the full game??
I am using an NVidia 6800 LE graphics card with 6.something drivers. I know new drivers came out the other day but am also unsure of the process of updating these.
Can anybody help????
Also with the drivers, do I uninstall the old one, install the new one and then restart windows?? Or do I click 'update driver' in the device manager? I'm scared of mucking up by comp! I think my old drivers reside in the c:windowsNVidia directory.
Many thanks, FunkyR

ref: drivers.
It's recommended that you uninstall the existing drivers before installing new versions.
However I've never done this and not had a problem.
I've updated my nvida GFX drivers many many times.
(OS = windows XP can't comment on succes for win9X generation OS)
Just go to www.nvida.com and download the latest drivers for geforce cards.
It comes as an executable file (.exe) so you just save it somewhere and then run it (double click it etc) and job done.
No idea about the dash problem as I've not tried to full game yet.

I remember the demo did some odd things where I couldn't change the view back to dash sometimes. Not had any similar problems in the full game though

Thanks AJ, just wanted to check this prob with others before I splash out for a GTR and Logitech Momo Force Wheel combo!!
P.S Anybody using the logitech force momo wheel with this game, any troubles????
Cheers all
I'm having a problem with the demo of GTR, I wonder if anyone here can help:
it installed fine, but when I run it I get the error 'This folder already contains a folder named 'Spa'.' Then I get the options about moving/copying with Yes, Yes to All, No and Cancel. No matter what one I press, I get the 'GTR has encountered a problem and needs to to close' window come up.
Any ideas?

try installing it into a different directory from the default one? eg C:Program FilesGTR or C:GTR...
it could be C: ighairyballs even, just needs to be different from the default.
Thanks, that's done the trick.
First game I've played that lets you do donuts though, intentional or not...
