On Saturday after waiting for what felt like months, but was actually only 3 weeks or so, my DFP arrived.

I'm having problems with it though (aside from the fact I'm crap when using it - getting better all the time).

It seems that the brake doesn't always come all the way off. I need to lift the pedal up with my foot to get the brake off. Also, a couple of times when I've put the accelerator to the floor the white bar has moved to max and the revs rise, but the car stays still. Only after a couple of pumps of the pedal will the car start to move.

There is a thread on GTplanet (and several others that Google found) that discusses these problems. They seem to suggest that it's a design flaw and affects all DFPs, but from the posts it would appear it happens normally after a few months or so of use. Mine happened within minutes. In the thread on GTplanet a couple of people have mentioned that there is a revised version of the wheel that doesn't suffer from the problem and Logitec will send a replacement. There are also links to a couple of sites that provide DIY fixes for the issues.

I was just wondering if anyone else had come across this, whether anyone had spoken to Logitec about it and had any joy. I'll ring them tonight if they're still open when I get in. I'd rather see about getting a proper replacement or official solution befor opening it up and trying to repair it myself.

Can confirm no problems with mine Mate. I've heard on other threads also that some have developed problems after a short while, but fingers crossed, I'm unaffected.....yet. Hope it doesn't detract from the enjoyment too much and you get it sorted sharpish.

I've had mine since October (although it's only since GT4 that it's really got hammered) and it doesn't have those problems.

I wouldn't open it up though, especially if Logitech will simply replace with a new one ...

... then again, it would mean doing without it for a while, so I could be tempted

Hope you get it fixed soon though. I would find it very hard to go back to the controller now.

No problems here either and Ive had mine for over a year I think.

and you mention the problem with having it at max revs but not accelerating - I dont think its the wheels fault. When playing with one of my older controllers I was having that same problem with it.

Ive never noticed my brake getting stuck either. Maybe you unfortunately got a fubared from the factory wheel. Try returning it.
