Help!

I just can’t get my F1 car set-up to do either the ‘Ring, Le Mans or the Super Speedway. Every time I try it the thing just noses into the barrier, usually at 200mph+

Even more annoying when you have got it on B-spec as may numpty driver insists on waiting till the thing is down to 60 before pulling off again!

I also seem to have a problem on the pre-chicane Le Mans track with the R8 – breath on the controller and it’s time to eat Armco! Any suggestions other than buy a wheel, which I can never get on with in the first place!

Cheers,

John

Not sure how to fix it but if it makes you feel any better, atleast the AI do it too.

I have stopped using F1 cars on those tracks and stick to Le mans type cars, but they still do it once in a while too

Have a look at the setups here:

www.gtvault.com/CarSetupsList.cfm?CarID=187&Make=F1&CarName=Polyphony%20002&GroupBy=SetupID&Order=asc

Particularly the ones from a guy called 'Fumes', who seems to be a bit of a tuning god...

These setups are for the F1 cars in GT3, but his other GT3 setups I've tried in GT4 seem to work really well.

If nothing else they might give you somewhere to start...

Ack. That link might not take you where you need to go

Probably best to go here:

www.gtvault.com

and use the 'Search by make' drop-down on the left hand side...

Doh!

It narks me that you can qualify the XJR-9 on the superspeedway over 2 secs ahead of the rest of the field, yet if you try to run the race on B-Spec the numpty can still hit the wall at such an angle that you can lose a lap! I couldn't even do that if I tried!

Will have to give the F1 car up for the bumpy fast tracks then! Just save it for pot hunting expeds!

heh, had that last night running the 1000km Nurnberg ring race (25 laps!)... AI lost it approaching the pits and went past the exit then sat there trying to drive through the wall to the pit lane!

Interesting tip to note - the rules for those races state 'unmodified' but you can tweak the weight, breaks and suspension and still be allowed to enter... The AC is almost undriveable but the AI manages nicely.

No worries

You can find some really terrible setups on there, mind.

Stick with 'Fumes' though and you shouldn't go far wrong...

As for breathing on the controller and ending up on the wall, unless you have the worlds most sensitive thumbs and really can make minute adjustments to the thumbsticks everytime for steering I would use the D-pad, much easier for small corrections and you don't end up steering too hard and ending up in a wall. On another note I use the right analogue stick as my accelerator/brake, makes it much easier for drifting, probably the opposite of how most people hold their controllers for GT4..
