Hi,
it is strange, I mean I only completed 3% of the game and already have a TVR Cerbera Speed 12 width 850 bhp...
Did I do something wrong? I only played for lets say 10 hours or so and I already have a car that can compete with every other car!?
Whats that about?
I started all normal with a Tureno (tuned to 250 bhp) then saved some money, maybe I got lucky here and found a TVR Griffith with 324 bhp in the used car section for 20k credits. Then I entered the TVR Blackpool Racers event and won that, its not that easy but the speed 12 driven by the ai can't really drive through corners.

I aint no expert on GT4, but its only 3% and some of the later tests and races are hard. The advent of the B-Spec mode means that you need to "teach" the system to race for you - unless you are able to race for 24 hours....!?!?!
There is a lot more to do and just one fast car is only a small part of it.

I think you'll find that in many of the races the Speed 12 will get it's pants pulled down by lower powered cars - it's good but not that good - understeer anyone?
I have noticed that you do seem to win very good cars very early on - but that's a good thing in my opinion. I hated having to re-race the sunday cup 20 times just to be able to afford a new car so I could move on!

I had a few modified cars on my first day of Gran Turismo mode. The problem comes when you have limitations on the cars, need for FF, FR, RR etc cars, different ages, different tyres etc etc
GT4 is a huge game with lots of different requirements. Just having one good car is nowhere near enough.
Enjoy

I've managed to get the speed 12 to do a close approximation of good performance but it still gets it's tail pulled by my tuned griff. I suspect it would be a lot quicker if you could control the throttle better with the standard hand controller. Then there is the matter of the stability control aids which just make it impossible to hussle through corners.
If it isn't quick enough for you just invest in a supercharger and a bottle of nitrous.
As for the game being too easy? Well now they tell you what the a-spec points rating is for each race (with your chosen chariot) you know what to expect. If you are only getting 1 or 2 points each race then you know you are taking the piss. Try taking away some of the upgrades of chosing a different car so that you get a challenge. If it is just a matter of winning a given prize car then I'll just finish the race as quickly as possible but if I want a challenge I'll aim for a 200 point race and really have to fight for the finish

Bought it on release date. Currently Completed 38% so far. I find that racing the Pan European Championship and missing out the Nurburgring race at the end gives you a substantual amount of money and then Selling the XJ220LM race car for 320,000 gives you about £450,000 of cash to play with everytime. Got it up to £4.5million and bought the Audi R8 LM race car. Love the game. My two best friends and i are going to do the 24Hr Le Mans race in Stints for the full 24Hours. We are taking it that seriously that we will begin the race at 4pm on Saturday and end at 4pm on Sunday. We also wear helmets and use a Steering Wheel.
I know, its hilarious. Have to have the surround sound on a bit louder to hear the glorious revs through the helmet but it does add a bit more realism to it. Thinking about connecting a caffitor and a drinks tube for the full 24 hours. They don't have a pause button in real life and niether will we.

Funny that, still working throught the beginner stuff I've had race rated at 9 points that have been a nightmare but 90 point races that have been so easy.
Think I'm learning just to improve handling (weight/racing suspension) and acceleration (weight, racing gearbox/flywheel) at first rather that pile on the power upgrades where a least one of the AI cars are improved to a level to catch you out.
I spend hours and hours improoving every aspect of every car for different tracks. Changing every detail until i can't get any faster. Wish there was a Chim on the game like in GT2 but the Cerbera speed six is some concelation. Just won the Maclaren F1 GTR on the extreme racing bit. Love the game, its highly addictive. Havn't played online on Gotham Racing 2 since i bought it. My name on that is S3TAY.

I have driven the Sarthe circuit for real in 2002 with the TVRCC and Morgan Car club 7,30 in the morning before the 24 hour race. Was brilliant experience and thank god i took the video camera in the Chim.
