Does the wheel make 'that' much difference to the control of the cars ? I can understand you'd feel more attached with the force feedback etc,
One reason I haven't got one, I don't have a table/flat surface to plonk the wheel on, I'd be all over the place trying to wring a quick lap out...

It really is excellent, I couldn't imagine trying GT with the standard controller now!

You can hold smooth lines through shallow bends, catch slides quickly. Also, because the accelerator and brakes are separated, you can dab the brakes mid corner whilst still keeping the throttle planted. you can blip the throttle on down shifts (and there's a little stubby gear lever!)

I went to a local hardware shop and spent £12 on a tv dinner table that holds the wheel perfectly, and folds away

GAME are currently doing a wheel called the Speedster 3 Forceshock.

It comes with pedals, F1 style paddleshifts, force feedback, programmable button, fully adjustable sensitvity and dead zone, can be table mounted or sit on your lap and there will be plenty in stock. It's bloody brilliant and yours for £39.99.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Have tried all of the links above but they're all out of stock. You can import them from the states for $68!!! Anyone know if they'll be compatible?

Should be fine, apart from the mains plug. It's just a USB connector to the PS2.

I have been scammed on E-Bay for a DFP wheel, careful here. The vendor was one of those Buy It Now looking legit.

Looking at the feed back I am not the only one.

If it works on both then I'll have to get one.

I understand that you just have to download a driver for it, then it works on the pc.

I've since seen a couple of review sites which confirm it definitely works with a PC. Win XP apparently doesn't require any additional drivers.

That's no way to talk about your kids!

I find the worst for deliveries are a certain company with yellow and green vans. They knock with the force of a church mouse (I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that they do actually knock) and then they take the parcel straight back to their depot.
