just wondering if anyone knows why the horsepower for your car appears to change on different screens, eg on the replay screen it will say 387hp then say on the garage screen it would be 379hp, then in the tuner shop it might be 377hp?

anyone know why this is at all?

Its down to your oil.....

The lower figure is you cars 'stock' power given mods etc.. the hogher one is what otys actually putting out, which could be more if you have fresh oil in there..

no it isnt, because it happens the same on brand new cars

eg it will be different on your car list as it is on the replay screen which comes up first

really dont know why it changes but its not to do with oil

Maybe the figure shown in the tuning section is the max hp and the figure shown in the replay etc is the figure that you are acheiving with the current set up?

Just a thought...

Oil makes a difference, even with new cars.

Plus, in the old GT3, age used to effect the bhp. Cars would increase in power by a couple of % as you increased the mileage. This could be the case too?

The bhp figure seems to deteriorate with use and there's nothing you seem to be able to do to boost it back up. My 523bhp Lancer is now down to 492bhp.

I seem to remember having a Vertigo race car in GT3 which peaked its bhp at around 700 miles use. It then went down until it levelled out at around 1000 miles.

I would guess GT4 would be similar?

im talking about a brand new car though, the oil is fresh, its standard, but the hp figures changes on the garage screen and when the replay first starts up!

I think ( and I don't know, just think ) that the figure shown on the replay screen is the bhp/tonne - I think that is also used to calculate how many a-spec points you get for a particular race so would indicate that is why they're showing it to you.

i can understand that, i just dont understand why the figure is different, take my formula 1 car, on the garage screen it says that it has 904bhp, then when a replay loads up it will say something like 891bhp

brand new car, not modded, clean oil

i just dont get it!

When you say "clean oil" do you mean its in the state you purchased the car or do you perform an oil change as soon as you have brought the car?

its brand new oil, as i bought the car with, thing is it doesnt change with an f1 car as you cant change the oil, and on gt4 it appears that changing the oil on a new car doesnt do anything, i have changed the oil on many new cars and the hp doesnt go up!
