Ah ok, just watched it again.

Ummm, maybe me, but either the driver is very gifted or it did not look very difficult, car just seems to stick to the road like its on rails....

Yep, it's the F1 car.

and

Yep, it's for real. Maybe the pukka steering wheel makes it that much easier?

does anyone get the feeling with the introduction of the 'ring into all these races, and videos like this cropping up (along with a mirad of people here saying "'ring in < x mins) that the Nurburgring will be a very dangerous track in the next few years?

I had planned to hit it sometime, but now I'm staying as far aways as possible.

was thinking teh same the other night. A little bit of familiarity can be a bad thing on a track like that (not that I've been on it). Chance gone now, but a couple of years ago had an opp. to go around in the 500 (didnt end up abroad with car so that was that). I would have crept around like a grandma.. after learning the track I'm sure I would remember an amount of the layout.. but then memory can play tricks. Saw a TV show a while ago where the best PC rally driver tried it for real. BASH BASH BASH.

How do you know it's for real and not someone miming?

Just curious, personally think it could be either, difficult to tell.

To be fair he wasn't the best driver, he was thought the game (something like Colin McRae as well) was true to life so clipped a corner against the direction of the co-driver IIRC and rolled it.

Yes, he does seem to turn into some of the corners a little after the car does...

The F1 car must be very good, because the cambers and bumps that affect me don't appear to have any effect on that car.

In the lower left doesn't it look like the triangle " ! " warning or whatever is going off? Isn't that the stability control light? I figure with all the downforce the bumps don't make the car drift around. I've noticed the racier cars tend to handle better than the closer to road cars. Not once did he apply opposite lock. BTW the Alpina 110 car that is an older car doesn't have any engine noise / or if so it is very very little. I'm still miffed about the oversteer issue In some ways GT3 is a better game because it's easier to use.

That is SOOOOO miming it's not true...check out the very first right-hander about 5 seconds into the film.....it's already heading towards the apex before he's even thinking about turning the wheel.

Well, always one that's willing to eat my words... It does look like that doesn't it? Or is it following the camber of the road? Not sure....

On the other hand:

If Mr Meaden (EVO) can hustle a Sauber round there in 5 1/2 mins after a days solid practice, surely it's possible to shave 30secs off that in an F1 car?

Quite possibly.....but that's not the point.....in the clip shown, that guy is not driving.

Hang on - I've just had another look.

Watch the G-meter at the bottom of the screen on that first corner. It corresponds exactly to his hand movement...

On the basis the games only just come out and he's got the F1 car already (i'm assuming you've got to go some way through the game to get it), is it not fair to say he may be one of the games developers?

I have to say it looks pukka to me.
