anybody having trouble with getting this?

there seems to be no "simulation tyres" as in GT3.. and with all the aids off, full throttle in a 2nd gear corner in a T350C... and no oversteer !?!?

I can get it to momentum-oversteer, and lift-off oversteer, and over camber-changes, but none of the cars seem to get their arses out just from power!?!

what am I doing wrong?

P.S. the 'ring is just plain scarey! taking off all skew at 150mph+ ion an NSX-R over a brow, with a bumpy landing/braking surface...

Or just fiddle with the suspension a bit

Theres also and oversteer setting in there with the traction control stuff.

Tweak it up a bit on FWD cars and it makes the perfect tool for drifting out of the faster corners.

Just remembered, I got loads of oversteer on the Paris cobbles in an Elise 190sport so you must have left something on.

(Did it for real in a rented Laguna on that same bit too, "Place de la Concorde" I think. When those cobbled roundabout bits get wet they are great fun!).

im having simular problems you seem to be able to wheelspin like a madman and it has no affect then theres when you do get it sliding and put some opposite lock on, the game doesent get the lock off quick enough, firing you off backwards...

I've got all the aids off as far as I can see... unless there's some hidden ones?

it seems to drive pretty much like GT3 did with all the aids off, and normal tyres... but GT3 was transformed by using the "simulation" tyres...

I guess I'll keep looking.. but a 350bhp rwd car shouldn't need cobbles to make it oversteer!!!

I thought the physics system was supposed to have been completely re-vamped? the cars still won't donut!

TVR V8S did alright for me in 2 player mode
(A good way to watch donuts is select 2 player and watch what you are doing through player 2's view!)

i take it you havent found the economy tyres yet? go to the tuning section for your relative car and into to the tyre section and choose economy tyres there free to.

aha... so are they basically the same as the "sim" tyres from GT3?

presume so, as there would seem to be no other reason for them... although, given it's supposed to be "The Ultimate Driving Simulator", I'm pretty sure you don't have to put crap tyres on a T350 to get it to oversteer ?!?!?

will give them a go none-the-less....

Must be something fishy if it can't spin without changing tyres, but then I've always thought of the GT series as arcade games rather than a proper sim...

exactly!!..

with the sim tyres in GT3, you'd basically be on the opp-lock-stops the whole time in anything powerful and rwd!

been trying again just now.. and BMW M3, RX7 Bathurst, T350C, Elise 111R.. all in second-gear hairpins, bootful of throttle.. and.... nothing not a hint of oversteer...

can some of you GT3 drifters please tell me what you're going in GT4 to get the same kind of drifting going on.. because I can't get anywhere!

Yup, exactly my problem with GT4. I can drift a car into a corner so the back is loose but when you put full power on in the cars I have driven there is absolutely no oversteer with all traction and stability control turned off. Lammo. Interestingly when I am struggling with understeer I will manipulate the throttle on and off and it helps "turn" the car and stop the understeers bad effects.

For some reason I had no engine noise in one of the Ruf porkers and in the Jag. 4 door there was no engine noise. To me, the engine noise in the rear view sounds more realistic for an in-car sound. When I first drove the Ginetta around the "Ring" it did feel pretty good. There is a French car that has just the right amount of handleing but also naughty character to make driving a pleasure. Going to a really tight car like on of the Subaru race cars is interesting to just for it's shear perfection. The TVR's have such touchy brakes and body roll and I find them a little to difficult to manage.

Have had the same probs, firing off backwards after applying opp lock, my conclusion on GT4 is..... same as GT3 with more cars, handling is still very arcadey and nowhere near as good as GPL, love the Ring though and all the vintage stuff, I guess it's worth it for that alone.

GTR comes tomorow............

Ah.. at least it's not just me....

as you say, a slight lift mid-corner tightens the line nicely, and again, you can get the back end loose on corner entry... if you're driving "neatly" it feels great.. nice and adjustable.. elise on the 'ring is a great example.. feels nimble and lithe, adjustable and pointy.. but a 400bhp T350C that you can't make swing it's arse out of 2nd gear corners !?!?!? there's got to be something wrong!

hope somebody finds out a fix for this.. as I'll be playing GTR for the REAL racing.. I wanted GT4 for some FUN.. i.e. some lairy power-slides!! I can't believe they've ruined this !?!?!??

My 300bhp S2000 (mit turbo) with power slide out of corners. It might just be down the the understeery default setup of the t350.

If you chaps are after some wild leery oversteer, try an E55 AMG or BMW M5 without aids and an excess of power and less weight. Try the final test in the national A licence with an RX-7 on the 'Ring. Wild, on the limit stuff.

Easiest fix: use nitro early/mid-corner for the most lairy slides...
